VUU records Perfect Score in XC Panther Classic

Virginia Union University's men's cross-country team recorded its first perfect score of the season by capturing the top five spots to win the Panther Classic Cross Country Meet, held on Friday, September 16, at Bryan Park in Richmond, Va.

VUU won the meet with 15 total team points while Chowan University placed second with 63 points. Elizabeth City State University was third with 65 points and Virginia State University was fourth with 77 points.

Virginia Union's Luis Nieves won his second straight meet, finishing first with a time of 28:59.9 over the eight-kilometer course. VUU's Jordan Fountain was second with a time of 29:23.0.

VUU's Myles Watson was third with a time of 29:35.4 and teammate Linda Moise was fourth with a time of 29:38.8.

Virginia Union's Charles Whitehead-Tillery was fifth with a time of 31:16.7.

VUU's Iyon Oravitz placed 12th with a time of 39:39.4

Virginia Union now travels to Petersburg, Va., to compete in the VSU Invite on Friday, September 23.
