SAU Graduate Sparks Team To Chavis League Basketball Title

Raleigh, NC (Aug. 7) – Saint Augustine's University graduate Kasey Bryant scored a game-high 31 points to lead Hubie's All-Stars past Kenny's Sharpshooters 115-110 in the Chavis Summer Basketball League Championship Game on Thursday, Aug. 2. The contest was played at Emery Gymnasium on the Saint Augustine's University campus. Bryant, a Raleigh, N.C., native, was the starting point guard for Saint Augustine's University the past two seasons. He graduated from SAU with a sport management degree in May 2018.

This past season, Bryant ranked second in the CIAA in three-point field goal percentage (45.6). He led the Falcons in assists (3.0) and free throw percentage (86.7) in addition to averaging 8.7 points per contest as a senior. Tharon Suggs and Jeff Monroe each added 26 points for Hubie's. Niquan Cousins paced Kenny's with 26 points.
