RALEIGH, NC (Nov 25) - On Friday, Saint Augustine's University's Anthony Gaskins (Sr./Greenville, NC) surpassed the 1,000-point career mark in a 67-59 men's basketball loss to Embry-Riddle University on the first day of the Daytona Mitsubishi/Kia Shootout at the ICI Center in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Gaskins now has 1,014 career points after leading the Falcons with 18 in the contest. Needing only four points entering the tournament, Gaskins reached the milestone on a jumper at the 15:24 mark in the first half.

Kenneth Collins (Jr./Clayton, NC) added 12 points and Quincy January (Jr./Atlanta, GA) scored 10 points for the Falcons (2-4 overall), who went into halftime tied 32-32 after shooting 44.8 percent in the first half.
But the Falcons cooled off in the second half, shooting 24.3 percent while host Embry-Riddle shot 54.2 percent to outscore the visitors 35-27 in the final 20 minutes. For the contest, the Falcons shot 33.3 percent and Embry-Riddle (3-2) shot 45.6 percent.
Dalton Barnes led Embry-Riddle with 21 points, 10 rebounds, nine assists and three steals. Kasey Bryant (Jr./Raleigh, NC) contributed eight points for the Falcons.
