No. 16 Queens Downs JCSU Men’s Basketball, 89-83

Charlotte, N.C. (Nov. 26, 2016) – Visiting Queens University had all five starters score in double figures while hitting 12 three-pointers to down Johnson C. Smith University in men's basketball play, 89-83 at Brayboy Gym on Saturday.

The Royals (6-0), ranked No. 18 in the latest NABC Division II National Poll, got 18 points from forward Daniel Camps while teammates Jalin Alexander and Mike Davis each poured in 17 points. Todd Withers had 13 while Ike Agusi had 10 in the win.

Collectively, Queens shot 46.7% from the field including a 38.7% clip from long range, connecting on 12 three pointers.

The Golden Bulls (2-4) shot better than the Royals, going 28-of-57 (49.1%) but only managed to hit five three pointers on the evening, finishing 5-for-13 (38.5%) from long range.

JCSU junior forward Gabon Williams (Charlotte, N.C.) led all scorers with 20 points while teammate and fellow junior Robert Davis (West Friendship, Md.) had 19 points. Junior forward
Malik Ford (Salisbury, N.C.) had 16 points while freshman Cayse Minor (Winston-Salem, N.C.) enjoyed his best outing as a collegiate player , finishing with 15 points on a 5-of-9 shooting effort.

JCSU will take to the floor next on Wednesday night when they travel to Jefferson City, Tenn. for a  7:00 p.m. matchup with Carson-Newman.
