Player of the Week - Notes of Interest
 Jordan averaged 21 points in two games including 35 points in a 77-55 blowout of perennial CIAA powerhouse Virginia Union on Thursday.  Jordan helped the Falcons end a six-game home losing streak to the Panthers.

Rookie of the Week - Notes of Interest
Cooper  played just 10 minutes vs. Bluefield State but recorded two points, three rebounds, an assist and a steal in JCSU's huge victory over the Big Blues. 

 

Men's Coach of the Week

Lonnie Blow Jr., Saint Augustine's College  
Blow, a first-year coach, directed the Falcons to a 2-0 record during the week including easy wins over archrival Shaw (78-57) and perennial CIAA powerhouse Virginia Union (77-55). The win over Virginia Union snapped a six-game home losing streak to the Panthers. It is the first time the Falcons beat the Panthers at home since the 1998-99 season. The win also marked the Falcons' largest margin of victory over the Panthers in recent memory.

Player of the Week - Notes of Interest
Bryant averaged 23.5 points in two games including 35 points in a 77-71 upset win over 17th-ranked Shaw; the defending CIAA champion. The win snapped a 12-game losing streak to the Lady Bears. It was her second consecutive game of 30 or more points. 

 

Women's Coach of the Week

Margaret Richards, Saint Augustine's College 
Richards, a first-year coach, gained her biggest victory in her brief head coaching career by leading the Lady Falcons to a stunning 77-71 victory over 17th-ranked Shaw last Tuesday. The win ended a 12-game losing streak to the Lady Bears. The victory was the first for the Lady Falcons over the Lady Bears since January 2001.
