Player of the
Week - Notes of Interest
Hilliard posted two double-doubles this week bringing
his career total to 41. He scored 24 points in the Vikings' double
overtime win over defending CIAA champion Johnson C. Smith in
Charlotte and tallied 25 points and 11 rebounds against Central
State in a 74-73 overtime win. He earned MVP honors at the Fresh
Coast Classic in Milwaukee, WI after his 33 point, 13 rebound
performance in the championship game win over Morehouse
College.

The Vikings are 5-0 for the first time in Coach Walker's tenure at
ECSU. Last week they went 3-0 with a double overtime win over
defending CIAA Champion Johnson C. Smith in Charlotte. They also
won the 2008 Fresh Coast Classic Championship in Milwaukee,
Wisconsin with victories over Central State (OH) in overtime 74-73
and Morehouse College 68-65.

Week - Notes of Interest
Bell averaged a double-double of 13.7 ppg and 12.0 rebounds
per game. Her best game came against Catawba College in which she
recorded 19 points, 15 rebounds, two blocks and a steal en route to
All-Tournament Honors.

Player of the
Week - Notes of Interest
Bryant led the Lady Falcons with 36 points and 10 rebounds
in a 74-72 loss to Fayetteville State on Saturday. She scored what
is believed to be a school freshman record for a Lady Falcon.
Bryant made 12 of 16 field goals and 12 of 16 free
throws.
Women's Coach of the Week
James Hill,
Virginia State University
Coach Hill has guided the Lady Trojans to a 6-1 start; VSU's
best start since the 1995-96 team went 7-0.
