ECSU BASKETBALL RANKS 6th IN NATION IN MEN'S BASKETBALL ATTENDANCE
 
Vikings Led CIAA in Attendance for the 2008-09 Season

INDIANAPOLIS, IN- The Elizabeth City State University men's basketball team ranked 6th overall for attendance in NCAA Division II for the 2008-09 school year.
 
In 11 home games last season, the Vikings hosted an average 2,848 fans at the RL Vaughan Center. ECSU boasted a CIAA best of 31,324 people, ranking ahead of fellow conference members Virginia State (8th), Fayetteville State (18th) and Virginia Union (21st). Of the top 15 teams ranked, ECSU hosted the fewest home games (11) last season. As a conference the CIAA ranked third overall in the nation with four schools ranking in the top 30.
 
The Vikings finished 21-7 overall last season, capturing ECSU's first back-to-back 20-win season since it was done three consecutive times from 1970-1973.
