IN SPORTS ILLUSTRATED FACES IN THE CROWD
Reigning CIAA Player of the Year
Leads Conference in Scoring, Rebounding, Steals

ELIZABETH CITY, NC- Elizabeth City State’s All-American guard
Anthony Hilliard has been featured in the Faces in the Crowd
section of the December 29th issue of Sports Illustrated, the
nation’s leading sports publication.
Hilliard was recognized for his MVP 33 point, 12 rebound
performance versus Morehouse College in the championship game of
the 2008 Fresh Coast Classic in Milwaukee, Wisconsin November
27-28. The reigning CIAA Player of the Year has led the Vikings to
a 9-1 record (their best start since 1999-2000) and currently leads
the CIAA in scoring (25.7), rebounding (11.6) and steals (2.3). In
NCAA Division II his scoring and rebounding average rank 3rd and
9th overall.

The Vikings will return to action on January 6, 2009 when they
travel to Raleigh, NC to take on Shaw University. Game time is
