Cudjoe of SAU Ties For Third In CIAA Northern Division Golf Tournament

Raleigh, NC (April 10) – Sam Cudjoe (Fr./Bethel, Trinidad and Tobago) of Saint Augustine’s University tied for third individually in the CIAA Northern Division Tournament at the Albemarle Plantation Golf Course in Hertford, NC, on Tuesday. 

Cudjoe shot a 78 on Monday, April 9, and a 77 on Tuesday for a two-day score of 155 on the par 72, 6,522-yard course. He finished among the top five golfers to earn All-Tournament honors. 

Three SAU golfers placed among the top 20 competitors. Jaylon Lynn (Fr./Garner, NC) finished 18th with a 167 and James Thomas Moore (So./Fairfax, VA) tied for 19th with a 168. 

After starting the day in fifth place, the Falcons finished fourth with a 673 in the team standings. Livingstone College was the tournament winner with a 643 and Chowan University was second with a 649. Virginia Union University finished third with a 653. 

Elizabeth City State University, which hosted the tournament, placed fifth with a 677 and Fayetteville State University was sixth with a 690. Johnson C. Smith University finished seventh with a 707 and Virginia State University placed eighth with an 800. 

SAU will host the Falcon Spring Invitational at Pine Hollow Golf Course in Clayton, NC, on Monday, April 16. The one-day tournament begins at 9 a.m.
