JCSU Golf Finishes Seventh At CIAA Northern Division Championship

SNOW HILL, NC (March 28, 2017) – The Johnson C. Smith University finished in seventh place at the CIAA Northern Division Championship held at the par-72, 6,849 yard Cutter Creek Golf Club in Snow Hill, N.C.

The Golden Bulls carded a second day round of 345 to finish he tournament at 690 (+114). 

DeJuan Powell (Atlanta, GA) was the top JCSU finisher, completing day two with an 82 to finish the event with a 159 (+15), good for ninth place.

Teammate Glenn Canty (Durham, NC) shot a 91 on day two to finish in 30th place with a 172 (+28).

Virginia Union won the team title for the second straight week, carding a 611, one stroke better than host Chowan.

The Panthers’ Allan Day finished as the medalist, finishing the event with a 3-over pay 147.
