JCSU Golf in Seventh After First Round of CIAA Northern Division Championship

SNOW HILL, NC (March 27, 2017) – The Johnson C. Smith University golf team stands in seventh place after the first round of the CIAA Northern Division Championship held at the par-72, 6,849 yard Cutter Creek Golf Club in Snow Hill, N.C.

The Golden Bulls carded a 345 (+57) on day one of the tournament. JCSU is led by DeJuan Powell (Atlanta, Ga.), as he shot a five-over par 77, currently standing tied for ninth.

Teammate Glenn Canty (Durham, N.C.) shot a nine-over par 81 to sit tied for 20th after day one.

The second and final round of the CIAA Northern Division Championship is scheduled to tee off at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning.
