Oliver Wins Paine Golf Invitational In Playoff

AUGUSTA, GA - Junior Aaron Oliver (Pittsburgh, PA) of Saint Augustine's College defeated Sean Lucas of Paine in a sudden death playoff to win the Paine College Golf Invitational on Tuesday (March 18) at Forest Hills Golf Course.
Oliver shot for par on the first hole in the playoff to win the
individual title, the first in his college career as a Falcon. Both
Oliver and Lucas each shot a two-day score of 153 to force a
playoff.
Oliver led the Falcons to a third-place finish in the team standings. The Falcons shot 653, two shots behind Morehouse, which placed second with a 651 score. Paine, the host, won the event with a 632 score.
"I thought our guys played real well considering the conditions were cold," Falcon coach Lawrence Coleman said. "Aaron stepped up at crunch time."
Julius Wells (Bridgeport, CT) of the Falcons shot a 163 score to finish 10th individually.
The Forest Hills Golf Course, where the two-day tournament was held, is a par 72, 6,886-yard course.
