Salisbury, NC - After celebrating 125 years of college football, Livingstone College Blue Bears football will begin year 126, as players will report to fall camp on Monday, Aug. 6 and begin practicing on Wednesday, Aug. 8.
The players began gathering on campus Monday morning, old and new alike. The team will undergo tests and hold meetings the next few days before its first practice session on Wednesday at Alumni Memorial Stadium.
Many contributors return from last season's squad that finished 0-11 and in last place in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association. They will be joined Wednesday by a group of talented newcomers looking to build on last year's team.
Recent rain showers last week, left the field wet in various places. As long as the rain holds off, this week LC will have a chance for a great week of practice.
The Blue Bears open their season on the road against the Pikeville Bears, a NAIA member of the Mid-South Conference on Thursday, Aug. 30 at 7:00 p.m.
Season tickets for Livingstone's three game home schedule remain available. Reserved seating is available today and may be purchased by contacting the LC Athletics Ticket office.
