OFFENSIVE LINEMAN OF THE WEEK

#77 Shamdu Nalls, Virginia Union
(Sr, OL - Baltimore, MD)

Nalls anchored a VUU offensive line which allowed the Panthers to rush for a school-record 494 yards and nine rushing touchdowns in Virginia Union's 90-0 win over Lincoln. The Panthers racked up a total of 673 yards in total offense, smashing the old record of 623 yards set against Norfolk State in 1992.


 

QUARTERBACK OF THE WEEK

#3 Cordelral Cook, Virginia State
(Jr, QB - Atlanta, GA)

Cook finished the contest against ECSU with 250 passing yards going 18-of-26 and adding two touchdowns. He helped guide the Trojans to a 41-19 victory over the Vikings to open Northern Division play.

RECEIVER OF THE WEEK

#18 Lansana Sesay, Bowie State
(Sr, WR - Bowie, MD)

Sesay recorded a game-high and career-high 195 reception yards in Bowie State's 42-23 loss at Chowan.

OFFENSIVE BACK OF THE WEEK

#9 Tabyus Taylor, Virginia Union
(So, RB - Hopewell, VA)

Taylor rushed for 235 yards and three touchdowns in VUU's 90-0 win over Lincoln. Taylor's 235 yards rushing tied for the fifth-highest single-game total in school history.

DEFENSIVE BACK OF THE WEEK

#11 Demonte Hines, St. Augustine's
(So, DB - Washington, DC)

Hines was among the SAU tackle leaders with seven (2 solo) and also intercepted a pass in the 26-15 win over Livingstone. His interception deep in SAU territory stopped a potential Livingstone scoring drive.

LINEBACKER OF THE WEEK

#22 Joseph Harris, Jr., Saint Augustine's
(Fr, LB - Jacksonville, FL)

Harris, Jr. amassed a season-high 17 tackles including 0.5 tackles for loss to help the Falcons beat Livingstone 26-15. Harris was four tackles off the modern school single-game record of 21 tackles.

(So, DL - Cayce, SC)

Morton had a career day in VUU's 90-0 win over Lincoln. He had five tackles, a sack, and forced two fumbles.

Souza broke the VUU school-record by making 12 extra points. The old record was 10, set by Troy Krepich in 2014.
