Calhoun Selected for FCS Bowl

Virginia Union University's Karl Calhoun has been selected to play in the Fourth Annual FCS Bowl, to be played on Sunday, December 10, in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Calhoun, a senior linebacker from Sanford, Fla., was second on the Panther football team with 63 tackles. He also returned an interception for 26 yards.

The game will be played at Daytona Municipal Stadium in Daytona Beach, FL. The FCS Bowl features the best NCAA FCS and HBCU college seniors and is heavily scouted by the NFL and CFL. Last year saw 14 NFL Teams, 5 CFL Teams, and over 30 scouts present. More than 250 players have gone pro from East Preps/ SPIRAL Bowls and combines since 2009. SPIRAL puts on the premier SPIRAL Tropical Bowl each January featuring top FBS seniors as well. 

The FCS Bowl is an annual post-season college football all-star game consisting of top players from top FCS and HBCU schools played annually at Daytona Beach Stadium in Daytona Beach, Fla. The FCS Bowl showcases All-American and All Conference seniors from around the Nation that travel to the game from over 30 states representing over 100 schools. Players travel to the game from as far as Texas, Arkansas, Oregon, Colorado, Michigan, Utah, South Dakota and more. The FCS Bowl is the elite and only current post-season all star game scouted by the NFL and players get the opportunity to play in front of many NFL and CFL scouts and the game consistently gets 12 - 15 NFL Teams in attendance. The FCS Bowl is presented by SPIRAL / East Preps LLC and founded by owner Michael Quartey Esq., also a former NFL Agent. 

Former NFL Coach Mike Stock will return for the 4th year in a row to Head Coach the National Team while current AFL Albany Director of Football Operation Chris Thompson, will return teo Head Coach the American in the 4th Annual FCS Bowl.
