OFFENSIVE LINEMAN
Nathaniel Hartung, Winston-Salem State University
Position:  OL  Height:  6-2  Weight:  380  Class:  Jr  Hometown:  Butler, Pa.
Comments:  Nathaniel Hartung helped guide the WSSU Rams’ offense to 500 yards of total offense and a convincing 35-3 win over Bowie State University; moving the Rams to 5-0 overall, and 2-0 in the CIAA.  
 
RECEIVER (Wideouts/Tight Ends)
Kester Lewis, Lincoln University (PA)
Position:  WR  Height:  6-2  Weight:  170  Class:  Sr.  Hometown:  Bowie, Md.
Comments:  Kester Lewis had a career day in a 55-53 victory. Lewis finished with a career-high 147 yards on just five receptions. He caught a 75-yard touchdown pass from Doug Cook to begin his big day. 
 
QUARTERBACK
Doug Cook, Lincoln University (PA)
Height:  6-0  Weight:  170  Class:  So.  Hometown:  Dania Beach, Fla.
Comments:  Doug Cook followed his career-best performance last weekend by throwing for 343 yards on 27-of-43 passing with four touchdowns in a 55-53 win against Johnson C. Smith 
 
OFFENSIVE BACK (Running back/Halfback/Fullback/Tailback)
Dedrick Anderson, Johnson C. Smith University
Position:  RB  Height:  5'4  Weight:  150  Class:  Sr.  Hometown:  Winston-Salem, NC
Comments:  The shortest starting tailback in the CIAA, was seven yards away from rushing for a new career high. Anderson ran for 161 yards off 20 attempts with two rushing touchdowns. He is averaging 8.1 yards per carry. Anderson also returned four kickoffs for 120 yards to produce a game-high of 281 all-purpose yards. 
 
DEFENSIVE LINEMAN
Brad Davis, Elizabeth City State University
Position:  DE  Height:  6-1  Weight:  235  Class:  Sr  Hometown:  Charlotte, NC
Comments:  Davis led a defensive unit that held the Falcons to a season low 190 yards of offense including only 55 yards rushing. Davis finished with six solo stops, two sacks for a loss of 13 yards, five total tackles for a total loss of 27 yards, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and four quarterback hurries. His two sacks came late in the fourth quarter to help halt a late Falcon rally and preserve a 23-21 win at the Down East Classic. 
 
LINEBACKER
Tyheim Pitt, Livingstone College
Position: LB  Height:  5-10 Weight:  198 Class:  Jr. Hometown:  Freemont, NC
Comments:  All-CIAA pre-season selection Tyheim Pitt was a defensive force against Virginia Union. He recorded a game high 14 tackles (13 solo, one assisted), two tackles for a loss of 10 yards, and two breakups.
 
DEFENSIVE BACK
Nigel Rios, Elizabeth City State University
Position:  CB  Height:  5-9  Weight:  170  Class:  Jr  Hometown:  Washington, DC
Comments:  Rios returned a blocked Falcon PAT and returned it 90 yards for a defensive two points which proved to be the winning margin in ECSU's 23-21 win at the 15th Annual Down East Viking Football Classic. Rios also had six total tackles (five solo, one assisted) and four pass breakups. 
 
ROOKIE
Brion Robinson, Lincoln University (PA)
Position:  LB  Height:  5-10  Weight:  205  Class:  Fr.  Hometown:  Bowie, Md.
Comments:  Brion Robinson was a force on the defensive end as he had 11 tackles, including nine solo stops in the 55-53 win over Johnson C. Smith. Robinson also forced one fumble. 
 
SPECIALTY
Tyron Laughinghouse, St. Augustine’s University
Position:  KR-PR Height:  6-3  Weight:  175  Class:  Sr.  Hometown:  Greenville, N.C.
Comments:  Laughinghouse scored on a 95-yard kick return and a 77-yard punt return for the Falcons in a 23-21 loss to ECSU. He totaled 248 all-purpose yards including 200 yards in returns. Laughinghouse has three returns for TDs in his last two games including a kick return in two straight games. He entered the contest as the NCAA D-II leader in kick return average. 
 
COACH
O.J. Abanishe, Lincoln University (PA)
Comments:  Abanishe guided Lincoln to a 55-53 win during the Inaugural Hall of Fame game against Johnson C. Smith University. It was Lincoln's first win of the season and snapped an eight-game losing streak. 
 
General Notes of Interest:   
·         The Chowan University football team defeated Fayetteville State University on Saturday evening for the first time in school history. The 27-3 victory pulls Chowan to 3-2 and 2-0 in CIAA play. Their 3-2 start to the 2012 season is the first time Chowan has been over .500 at the halfway point of the season, since 1999. Additionally, Saturday's game was the first game since 2005 (vs. Southern Virginia), that the Hawks have not allowed a touchdown in a game.
 
·         Saint Augustine's University's two losses have come by a combined five points.
