Comments: Markus Lawrence, Jr., WSSU’s preseason
All-CIAA selection on the offensive line, helped lead the
Rams’ offensive attack of 493 total yards including 178
rushing yards and 315 passing yards and no sacks, in the
Rams’ 67-16 win over previously undefeated Virginia
Union.
RECEIVER (Wideouts/Tight Ends)
Robert Holland, Chowan University
Position: WR Height: 6-3

Comments: Holland caught 10 balls for 150 yards and three
touchdowns against UNC-Pembroke. He also caught a two-point
conversion.
OFFENSIVE BACK
Keahn Wallace, Johnson C. Smith University

Comments: Wallace recorded 404 total offensive yards (325
passing, 79 rushing) in an overtime shootout against Brevard. This
true freshman threw for three touchdowns and scrambled for two more
on the ground. He currently has 662 yards passing and 133 rushing
for the season. He accounted for every touchdown scored in the
38-35 overtime grudge match with Brevard.
DEFENSIVE LINEMAN

Comments: Nelson tied for a game-high 12 total tackles (8
solo, 4 assisted) and two tackles for loss including one sack in a
50-14 loss to New Haven.
LINEBACKER

Comments: Johnson paced the Bulldogs’ defense with a
team-high eight total tackles and recovered one fumble.
DEFENSIVE BACK

Comments: Darnell Evans was everywhere on Saturday as the
Bears nearly upset Division-I Delaware State. He had two
interceptions, including one returned for 70 yards, one fumble
recovery and five solo tackles. He also broke up two
passes.

Comments: James Langford, for the second week in a row,
returned the opening kickoff of the second half for a touchdown for
the Bears. He returned five kickoffs for 169 yards - an average of
33.8 yards per return. In addition, he had 65 yards rushing,
including another touchdown for a total of 234 all-purpose yards
for the Bears.
COACH
Damon Wilson, Bowie State University
Comments: Coach Wilson led his Bulldogs to a comfortable
31-14 home victory against Benedict College. Benedict is a member
of the SIAC, but this game counted as a conference game for Bowie
State, who improved to 2-0 on the year (1-0 in the CIAA).
