Two CIAA Players nominated for HSRN Player of the Week

Saint Augustine's Richards and Fayetteville State's Bailey vie for national honor

Hartly, DE -The Heritage Sports Radio Network (HSRN) has announced national player of the week fan poll week nine nominees.  Each week, HSRN will announce a national player of the week from both the top DI-FCS and Division II action.

The top performance each week will be selected and the HBCU fans across the country will get a chance to cast their vote for who they think had the best game. The Fan Poll is designed to get fans involved with the excitement of the HBCU college football action. Fans are asked to log on to HSRN.com and cast their vote for the top performance. Fans can vote on the poll today (Mon., Oct. 31) thru Wednesday (Nov. 2) until 11 am CT.  The CIAA nominees are:

Division II
Brian Richards - St. Augustine's – WR - 6’3, 190-SO/Waldorf, MD
Richards finished the game with 16 catches for 222 yards breaking a modern school record. He also had two TDs leading the Falcons to a 45-14 victory.

Colon Bailey - Fayetteville St. – RB - 6'0, 210-SO/Manteo, NC
Colon Bailey rushed for 135 yards on 27 carries with an average of 5 yards per carry. His longest was 25 yards. He had touchdown runs for two, 10 and five yards as the Broncos defeated J.C. Smith 44-23.
