Two CIAA Players nominated for HSRN Player of the Week

Elizabeth City State's McNeill and Chowan's Stover vie for national honor

Hartly, DE -The Heritage Sports Radio Network (HSRN) has announced national player of the week fan poll week eight nominees. Each week, HSRN will announce a national player of the week from both the top DI-FCS and Division II action.

The top performance each week will be selected and the HBCU fans across the country will get a chance to cast their vote for who they think had the best game. The "Fan Poll" is designed to get fans involved with the excitement of the HBCU college football action. Fans are asked to log on to HSRN.com and cast their vote for the top performance. Fans can vote on the poll today (Sun., Oct. 23) thru Wednesday (Oct. 26) until 11 am CT.  The CIAA nominees are:

Division II
Daronte McNeill - Elizabeth City St. - RB- 6'2, 215 - JR/Elizabeth City, NC
McNeill, a previous week seven player of the week winner, has continued to carry his team through his outstanding play at the RB position. This week McNeill rushed for 165 yard on 41 carries. He scored two rushing touchdowns and his longest was 17 yards. He also had a 33 yard touchdown pass as the Vikings defeated Bowie State 23-12 to clinch the CIAA Northern Div. title and a berth into the November 12th CIAA Championship game.

Cameron Stover - Chowan University - QB - 6'3, 190 - Flint, MI
Stover completed 24 of 40 passes for 374 yards and four touchdowns. His performance allowed the Hawks to come away with a 34-32 homecoming victory and their first win over the defending CIAA Champs the Bears of Shaw University.
