Ettrick, VA - The Virginia State University women's bowling team continues to show its versatility on and off the lanes as four student athletes in Victoria Buskey, Shericia Campbell, Rhyan Crenshaw and Briana Williams were named to the 2017-18 National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) All-Academic Team.
Each season the National Tenpin Coaches Association recognizes student athletes who have excelled in the classroom. To be recognized, a student athlete must have a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher for the academic school year. This year there are 268 honorees, representing NCAA bowling programs at 55 schools. This is a record for both individuals and schools since the inception of the award in 2006.
The National Tenpin Coaches Association is privileged to recognize outstanding academic achievement by our student athletes in the classroom.
Rhyan Crenshaw (Psychology) wrapped up impressive freshman campaign, while Victoria Buskey (Biology), Shericia Campbell (Biology) and Briana Williams (Biology) capped off a stellar sophomore season. The four helped propel the Trojan bowling team to a third place finish at the 2018 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association bowling championship.
