Eight Teams Set for 2017 CIAA Bowling Championship

Charlotte, NC (March 23, 2017) – The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) will host its 2017 Bowling Championship in Chesapeake, Virginia on Friday, March 24 – Sunday, March 26, 2017.  For the third consecutive season, the championship event will be hosted at AMF Western Branch Lanes. Opening ceremony will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. The championship is free and open to the public.

Championship Program

The top eight (8) CIAA teams will come together to compete for the 2017 championship title.  The defending Champion Bowie State University Bulldogs (29-4) have declared the 2017 CIAA Northern Division Title while Fayetteville State University (36-0) took the lead in the Southern Division.  BSU and FSU will be joined by Chowan University, Johnson C. Smith University, Shaw University, Saint Augustine’s University, Virginia State University, and Virginia Union this upcoming weekend.

In last year’s championship, the Broncos of Fayetteville State gave the Bulldogs of Bowie State a run for the conference title, but were downed 4-1.
