Chowan Women's Bowling Concludes Day Two of CIAA Roundup

Midlothian, VA-The Chowan University bowling team completes day two of the CIAA Round Up on Saturday afternoon. The Hawks posted a 4-1 record on the second day of play and hold a 8-2 mark currently in tie for third with Virginia State University heading into the final day of competition on Sunday.

The Hawks picked up a 736-594 victory in their first match of the day over John C. Smith University. Chowan dropped to Fayetteville State University 627-841 in match two, and then recovered 675-645 in match three over Shaw University.  The Hawks defeated Livingstone College 634-496 in match four before taking the 674-525 victory in match five over Saint Augustine's University on day two of competition.

Chowan knocked down 6,774 pins over the course of the first two days of competition. Ashley Tackett led the Hawks with 1,665 pins to complete the second day of play. Kiara Thomas tallied a pin count of 1,349 whileRebeccah Noll posted 1,226 pins for the Hawks. Kailah Herbin recorded a pin count of 1,168 in the second day of play. Leslie Maloney and Jasmine Miles competed in matches individually and knocked down 928 and 438 pins respectively.

Saturday marked the final day of traditional play. Chowan will continue play at the CIAA Round Up on Sunday in Baker play.
