FSU Bowling Ranked No. 1 Nationally in Win-Loss Percentage

Indianapolis, IN – The Fayetteville State University women’s bowling team concludes the 2015-16 season with the top win-loss percentage (.773) across all divisions in the latest NCAA Bowling Rankings. FSU finished with an overall record of 58-17.

The Lady Broncos placed second in the CIAA Championships. FSU captured their 13th consecutive divisional title this season. Fayetteville State had a conference record of 42-6 and an unblemished divisional mark of 33-0. 

Junior Jasmin Aponte (Fayetteville, NC) and freshman Veronica Colon-Santiago (Hope Mills, NC) earned spots on the All-CIAA Bowling Team. Sophomore Lola Neal (Wilson, NC) collected All-Tournament Team honors during the CIAA Championships with a tournament average of 181.6. Neal had the second highest average of all the CIAA bowlers. 

“Our program will continue to strive for excellence and bringing positive recognition to Fayetteville State University,” stated head bowling coach Bobby Henderson. “I’m proud of our student-athletes and the commitment displayed to fine-tune their craft.” 

Nebraska had the second highest winning percentage (.756). Bowie State (.743), Vanderbilt (.732), and Arkansas State (.721) ranked third, fourth, and fifth, respectively to round out the top five in the rankings. 

The Lady Broncos have claimed 15 divisional titles since the program began in 2001. Fayetteville State also finished in the top 25 in the Rating Percentage Index (RPI) at 17th nationally.
