Heading in to the championship match, the Bulldogs were undefeated and taking on the Broncos who persevered the losers bracket and a tough matchup versus the Virginia State University Trojans.  To keep up, the Broncos knew they would need to defeat the defending CIAA Champion Bulldogs twice in a row to fulfill the double elimination bracket.  In that first round, FSU handed BSU their first loss going 4-1.  Round two started strong for the Bulldogs who won the first two games. In game three, FSU managed to steal the win by one point, 181-180.  After that, Bowie State capitalized on two more victories for their second consecutive Bowling Championship Title.
