FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - T'Keya McKay (Sr./Groton, CT) of Saint Augustine's University finished among the top 10 Southern Division bowlers in the CIAA Round-Up, which was held Friday, Feb. 12 through Sunday, Feb. 14, at B&B Bowling Lanes.
Her average of 167.10 was the ninth-highest in the Southern Division. She bowled a score of 204 in Friday's first match against Bowie State.
Hunter Cannon (Sr./Rocky Mount, NC) of the Lady Falcons had the 11th-best average (162.60) and ShaKayla Glenn (Sr./Winston-Salem, NC) bowled the 13th-highest average (151.30). Imani Robinson (Sr./Burlington, NJ) rolled the 17th-best average (144.80) in the Southern Division.
Team-wise, the Lady Falcons placed seventh with 11,323 total pins and a 6-9 record in the CIAA Round-Up, including a 3-2 record in Baker matches Sunday. They defeated Virginia Union University 789-716, Elizabeth City State University 793-677 and Chowan University 712-674. Their losses were to Virginia State University 781-906 and Bowie State University 719-853.
In Friday's team matches, the Lady Falcons beat Chowan 701-646. They lost to Bowie State 764-866, Elizabeth City State 717-876, Virginia Union 726-755 and Virginia State 704-1003.
In Saturday's team matches, the Lady Falcons downed Chowan 832-759 and Virginia Union 803-740. They were defeated by Elizabeth City State 714-868, Bowie State 834-974 and Virginia State 734-995.
Virginia State placed first with a 14-1 record and 13,900 total pins at the CIAA Round-Up. Bowie State was second with a 12-3 mark and tied Fayetteville State University with 13,172 total pins.
The Lady Falcons will bowl again on March 4-6 in the CIAA Bowling Event No. 3 in Nags Head, N.C. The CIAA Championships will be held March 18-20 in Chesapeake, Va.
