Fayetteville, NC - The Fayetteville State women's bowling team will return to action as hosts of the CIAA North-South Roundup held at B &B Bowling Lanes. The Lady Broncos will participate in 12 matches during the tournament; which begins on Friday, February 12th afternoon and last until Sunday, February 14th.
Fayetteville State will be one of 10 CIAA member institutions taking part in this weekend's tournament. Five teams from the Northern and four teams from Southern Division will be involved in the event. The first two days of competition will be team match play, while Sunday will only be Baker matches. The matches begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday; and 9:55 a.m. on Sunday. Each match will take place in one-hour increments.
The Lady Broncos will play matches each day against Northern Division opponents. Fayetteville State enters the weekend with a 21-0 overall and conference record. FSU finished 9-0 at the CIAA divisional meet hosted by Chowan on February 5-7.
Junior Jasmin Aponte (Fayetteville, NC) and sophomore Lola Neal (Wilson, NC) will be Lady Bronco bowlers to watch. At the last meet, Aponte rolled a team-high average of 166.6, including a 214 game on day one. Meanwhile, Neal produced an average of 165.3 in 10 games bowled, including a high of 209 on day two.
Spectators are welcomed and admission is open to the public. The B & B Bowling Lanes are located at 3003 Fort Bragg Road in Fayetteville.
