CIAA Announces Dwayne Gladden as Men's Basketball Officiating Coordinator

Charlotte, NC (August 3, 2025) - The CIAA is proud to announce the addition of Mr. Dwayne Gladden as its next men’s basketball officiating coordinator.  In addition to assigning duties, Gladden will also provide rules education, game training and clinic administration for the CIAA mbb roster of game officials and neutral observers.

Gladden brings over 32 years of NCAA DI, II and III level officiating experience, including 16 NCAA championship games, and 25 straight CIAA championship games. Gladden is a Angier Lawrence (Integrity) Award winner and was mentored by the legendary official and coordinator Mr. Jim Burch. “We feel very fortunate to have tapped Gladden for the assigning duties at the CIAA" said Senior Associate Commissioner for Governance and Sport Administration, Eddie Weatherington. "Gladden’s resume and reputation speaks volumes; with 32 years of officiating, training, rules development and review to his credit at the highest level of collegiate basketball. We are excited for the future of CIAA men's basketball officiating and the expected ‘sky’s the limit’ trajectory of the program, continuing the legacy of excellence set by our former coordinators.”

Gladden's accomplishments include being elected to work 25 CIAA Tournaments, 16 NCAA Tournaments, IVY, PAT, ACC, Big-10, A-10, CAA, A-East, NEC, SoCon, MEAC, CIAA, NIT, CBI and CIT Tournaments. Mr. Dwayne Gladden’s tenure as CIAA men's basketball coordinator officially begins Aug. 4, 2025.
