Bluefield State Leads the Way Heading Into CIAA Golf Championship Final Round

LELAND, N.C.  — The 2025 CIAA Golf Championship is heating up at Magnolia Green Golf Club, with Bluefield State leading the pack after two rounds. The team posted scores of 301 and 293, totaling 594 (+18), to secure the top spot heading into the final round.

Fayetteville State trails by 15 strokes, sitting in second place with a combined score of 609 (+33). Livingstone is close behind in third with a total of 613 (+37).

Virginia State's David Chavez leads the individual standings with an impressive 143 (-1), thanks to a stellar second-round score of 66. Chavez's performance on April 14 was remarkable, as he navigated the Magnolia-Camellia course with precision. His front nine included five birdies, resulting in a score of 31. He maintained his momentum on the back nine, finishing with a 35, totaling 66 for the round.
