Bluefield, WV (Aug 8, 2024) – Bluefield State University Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics announced the promotion of Ashley Rasnake to Assistant Athletic Director of Athletic Communications on Thursday.
"I want to thank Derrick Price for this opportunity to expand my responsibilities here at Bluefield State," said Ashley Rasnake. "As a graduate of Bstate, I truly want the best for this university and can't wait to see all of the things we will accomplish."
Rasnake will continue to manage all strategic communications for the athletic department, serve as the primary contact for all 20 Big Blue Programs, including game day promotions, and manage social media, gobstate.com, and all CIAA and NCAA activities.
Rasnake's educational background includes an MBA in Sports and Recreational Management from Salem University and a Bachelor of Arts in Special Education with an emphasis on Sports Management and Leadership from Bluefield State College. As a student-athlete, Ashley was a captain of the Bluefield State College softball team and served as the president of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC).
Prior to Bluefield State, Ashley joined us from Salem University. While there, she managed statistics, maintained the university's athletic website, and coordinated communication with the NCAA. Ashley was responsible for overseeing 12 collegiate athletic programs, preparing post-game recaps, and creating social media content to highlight team and individual athlete achievements.

I cannot thank her enough for the unwavering dedication and effort she has demonstrated," said Derrick Price.
