CIAA MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK




NAME: Zion Obanla
INSTITUTION: Claflin University 
POSITION: Forward
CLASS: Senior
HOMETOWN: Houston, TX.
 

Zion had a terrific week for the Panthers. He scored a total of 42 points in three games. He opened the week with 18 points at Lincoln (Pa.) and he added 16 points in a win over Albany State and eight points in a win over Shaw at the YES United States Virgin Islands HBCU Classic. He had a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds at Lincoln (Pa.) He also added three steals, including two against Shaw. 

NAME: John Whitehead III
INSTITUTION: Claflin University 
POSITION: Guard
CLASS: Senior
HOMETOWN: Augusta, GA.

John continued his strong start to the season with some great defensive play this week. He led the Panthers with 15 total rebounds, including eight defensive rebounds. He also added a block and four steals, including three steals in a win over Shaw at the YES United States Virgin Islands HBCU Classic. In that game, he also had 10 points with seven rebounds. He also had three steals in a win over Albany State at the tournament. 

NAME: Khyelle Ingram
INSTITUTION: Winston-Salem State University 
POSITION: Forward
CLASS: Freshman
HOMETOWN: Roanoke Rapids, N.C.
 

This week Ingram scored 13 points, eight rebounds, and two steals. Khyelle went 6-of-10 from the field. Ingram's best game came on December 14th against University of Fort Lauderdale. He went 3-of-4 from the field, scoring six points, two rebounds and one steal.
