Virginia Union @ Virginia State (1:00 P.M.)
The battle of these two local squads adds an extra layer of excitement this season, as Virginia State will look to take down Virginia Union in hopes of earning a rematch in the 2024 CIAA Football Championship next weekend. For the Trojans, a win and a loss by Johnson C. Smith puts them in the championship game; so their fate rests in their own hands along with that of the Golden Bulls. If they lose, then Virginia Union will be taking on Johnson C. Smith in the championship game, regardless of how they do in week 10. The thrilling matchup will be streamed on HBCUGo.
Johnson C. Smith @ Livingstone (2:00 P.M.)
The oldest HBCU rivalry will take place this weekend and looks to be a good one, as Johnson C. Smith heads to Livingstone to take on the Blue Bears for a chance to compete in the 2024 CIAA Football Championship next weekend. The formula for the Golden Bulls is simple: win and you’re in; as a win would set JCSU up with a date against Virginia Union next weekend.
Lincoln @ Bowie State (12:00 P.M.)
The Bulldogs will look to finish their season on a high note, as they play host to Lincoln (PA) this Saturday. Both teams have had stronger second halves of their seasons, as Bowie State has won two of their last three games and the Lions have won two of their last four. The rivalry heavily favors Bowie State, as they’re 12-0 in the series dating back to 2009.
Fayetteville State @ Winston-Salem State (1:00 P.M.)
Last season’s runners up are officially out of championship contention, but will look to conclude the season above .500, as they will hit the road for a matchup against Winston-Salem State, who were knocked out of championship contention last week with a loss to Johnson C. Smith. The two teams are no strangers by any means, as they’ve faced off 43 times dating back to 1976. The Rams hold a strong 30-11-2 advantage in the series.
Elizabeth City State @ Bluefield State (6:00 P.M.)
Elizabeth City State and Bluefield State will look to end the season on a high note, as they will go head-to-head to conclude the 2024 CIAA football regular season. Both teams have had rough campaigns but will look to gain some momentum for the 2025 season. The two teams have faced off twice in the last three seasons, having split those matchups.
