Indianapolis – The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Regional Ranking Committee released the latest regional standings with Fayetteville State University ranked fourth in the Atlantic Region.
Head Coach John Cole has the Broncos playing solid rounds of golf against regional opponents and is currently vying for their first CIAA Championship since 2012. In his first season at the helm in 2019, the Broncos finished as Conference Runner-up.
This season, Fayetteville State defeated all conference opponents in the WSSU Ram Shootout in early March and repeated the feat at the CIAA Southern Division Tournament the weekend afterward. In the fall, the Broncos won the Farmers Insurance HBCU Championship in Atlanta, Ga., and finished second in the Richard Rendleman Invitational in Salisbury, N.C.
Most recently, Fayetteville State finished second to the defending CIAA Champion Livingstone at the Virginia State Spring Classic.
FSU will compete for the Northern Division title from April 3-4 in Clayton, NC.
Fayetteville State University holds a rich history of CIAA championships, PGA National Collegiate Minority titles and appearances in the NCAA Super Regional Tournaments, and a 2009 National Championship Tournament berth. FSU has 26 conference titles since 1976.
Fayetteville State University has sponsored a Division II men's golf program since 1971.
