Smith (Jr. - Memphis, TN) Continuing his impressive junior year, Cox got his weekend started with a second-place finish in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.56 seconds, which is a school record. FOOD LION MEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Jahaz Morgan, Virginia State (So. - Tallahassee, FL) Jahaz Morgan won the triple jump at the Spartan Invitational nailing an NCAA provisional qualifying mark. Morgan locked in a personal best leap of 14.83m. (48 ft 8in). He ranks second in the CIAA in the TJ. He also had a jump of 6.80m (223) in the long jump finishing 10th overall. He ranks fifth in the long jump in the CIAA. FOOD LION WOMEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Emoni Coleman, Virginia State (Jr.. - Atlanta, GA) Emoni Coleman ran a season-best of 4:59.13 in the 1500m finishing third overall. The Atlanta, GA native recorded a time of 2:19 in the 800m finishing tenth. She leads the CIAA in the 1500m and 800m FOOD LION WOMEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Kennedy Alexander, Winston-Salem State (Sr. - Charlotte, NC) Kennedy had a great showing for the Rams at the Trojan relays finishing with a second-place finish in the high jump with a mark of 1.66m (55.25").
