Chandar Anderson ran a 48.97 in the 400-meters to place second at the Carolina Challenge in Columbia, SC last week. The junior from Florence, SC came close to the NCAA Division II Qualifying Mark (48.59). His time of 48.97 is the top mark in the CIAA so far.

FOOD LION MEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Ja'Quan Wilkins, Johnson C. Smith
(Freshman) 

At the COROS Collegiate Challenge last week, Ja'Quan Wilkins won in both the long jump and triple jump. The freshman had a final mark of 7.37m (first in the CIAA) in the long jump and 14.09 (fourth in the conference) in the triple.

FOOD LION WOMEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Amaya Williams, Livingstone
(Fr. - Kannapolis, NC)

Amaya Williams set two new personal bests by winning the 200-meters (seeded) at the COROS Collegiate Challenge last week with a time of 25.51 and then placing 14th in the 60-meters (8.01). The freshman from Kannapolis, NC is now atop the leaderboard of the CIAA with her time in the 200m.


 
M'Smrya Seward



FOOD LION WOMEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

M'Smrya Seward, Fayetteville State
(Sr. - Youngsville, NC)

At the Marlin Invitational in Virginia Beach, VA last week, M'Smrya Seward won the triple jump event with a mark of 11.95m, which provisionally qualified her for the NCAA Division II Nationals. The senior from Youngsville, NC also qualified in the long jump with a leap of 6.10m, the third-longest Division II long jump performance of the season. Her hop skip jump of 11.95m leads the CIAA this season.
