The CIAA Event I was held on November 11th-13th in Raleigh, NC. Bowie State and Fayetteville State led the tournament with an undefeated 12-0 event record and a 9-3 Baker and Team win. For the Northern Division, Elizabeth City State placed second in the Northern Division with a 7-5 event record. For the Southern Division, the Golden Bulls from Johnson C. Smith placed second overall while going 7-5 overall for the weekend.
Bowie State's Paris Anthony earned a high game and high average for the tournament while Elizabeth City State's Amaya Barker took Newcomer High Average. For the Southern Division, Brooke Smith and Fayetteville State's Denise Brown tied for a high game of 211 for the weekend. Cecelia Chafin, who received All-CIAA Preseason Team honors, rolled the highest average for the Southern Division with a 183.78 average. 2021 Rookie and Player of the Year, Sophomore Carrington Hayward, finished third overall with an average of 176.00.
