ECSU Chancellor is guest of US Representative G.K. Butterfield at State of the Union Address

Washington, D.C. - Elizabeth City State University Chancellor Dr.
Willie J. Gilchrist and his wife, Jacqueline, will be Congressman
G. K. Butterfield's guests at President Barrack Obama's State of
the Union Address tonight.
Obama is expected to deliver the State of the Union Address at 9
p.m. before a joint session of Congress. The speech will be
delivered on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives.
Gilchrist and his wife will be sitting in the House gallery along
with the other honored guests, including First Lady Michelle
Obama.
Gilchrist was appointed Elizabeth City State University's
chancellor on March 15, 2007 after serving as its interim
chancellor beginning September 1, 2006. He has over 30 years of
experience as an educator and administrator.
