Bowie, MD - Bowie State University Athletics has announced the addition of three new head coaches to the Bulldogs staff. Michelle Latimer was appointed Interim Cross Country/Track & Field Coach, Kisha Reaves as Women's Tennis Coach and Thomasina Boardley as Cheerleader Coach.
"I'm extremely pleased to appoint these three individuals and feel they will do an outstanding job for their respective programs," said Athletic Director Derek Carter.
Latimer previously served Bowie State as Assistant Cross Country/Track & Field Coach for the women's and men's programs. Prior to joining the BSU family in 2004, Latimer served as Head Track & Field Coach of Division III Trinity College (Washington, DC) for two seasons. Under Latimer's direction, Trinity placed third overall in the conference in its inaugural 2002 season.
Reaves comes to BSU by way of the Maryland National Parks and Planning Commission, serving as Head Tennis Pro. She received an undergraduate degree from Hampton University (1999) and played tennis for the Lady Pirates. Some of Reaves' collegiate accomplishments include No. 1 ranking in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), three MEAC Championships, MEAC MVP and Hampton University Scholar Award.
Boardley brings over five years of coaching experience to Bowie State including stints as Junior Varsity Cheerleading Coach at River Hill High School (Clarksville, MD), Coach of the Galaxy Explosion All-Star Cheerleaders and Head Coach at High Point High School (Beltsville, MD). Before jumping into the coaching profession, Boardley was a member of the NFL's Atlanta Falcons and the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore (UMES) Cheerleader squads.
