    Virginia Union University Athletic Director Joe Taylor has been named the CIAA Athletic Director of the Year, the CIAA announced at the conference's annual spring meeting on Tuesday, May 15, in Charlotte, N.C.
  • Golf Places 16th at NCAA Regional

    The championship was played at the Resort at Glades Springs in Daniels West Virginia Monday through Wednesday, May 7th through May 9th, 2018. The Regional Championship was contested over 54 holes at the Cobb Course. The Cobb Course is a Par 72, 7, 151 yards with tree lined fairway and large greens complexes.

    The 32nd PGA Minority Collegiate Golf Championship was contested at the PGA Golf Club in Port Saint Lucie, Fla., on Friday through Sunday, May 11-13, 2018. The tournament field consisted of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) and other Minority Servicing Institutions.

  • Golf to Compete in PGA Minority Classic

    The 32nd PGA Minority Collegiate Golf Championship, will be played at the PGA Golf Club in Port Saint Lucie, Fla., Thursday through Sunday, May 10-13. The tournament field will consist of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) and other Minority Servicing Institutions. There will be a total 32 teams of 5 golfers each both Men & Women and 40 Individuals players also consisting of Men & Women. Men's Teams consist of 9 Division I Teams and 10 Division II Teams. There are 10 Women's Teams and 3 NAIA Teams. There are also 40 Individual golfers competing representing both Division l and Division ll schools. There are 10 Women and 27 Men Individual golfers. The championship will be a 54 hole tournament contested over two championship golf courses, The Wanamaker and The Ryder Golf Course.
  • Men's Track Places 3rd at CIAA Outdoor Championships

    The Virginia Union University men's track and field program capped their year Sunday, May 6, at the CIAA Championships with a 3rd place finish in the team standings. In a year that saw many challenges, the men stepped up when it counted the most and pulled through. Winning the title for the 21st straight year was St. Augustine's University, who outscored Virginia State University 202-189 for the championship. VUU was third with 78 points followed by Lincoln (Pa.) University (61), Johnson C. Smith University (47), Livingstone College (37) and Bowie State University (35).
  • Women's Track Earns CIAA High GPA Award

    The CIAA conference awarded this outdoor season's academic awards to the Virginia Union University women and Livingstone College men. The VUU women's team marked a collective 3.15 GPA, as the LC's men's program earned a 3.101 GPA.

  • Lady Panthers' CIAA Softball Run Ends

    Virginia Union University's Br&eacuteana Miller slammed a home run, but Winston-Salem State University defeated the Lady Panthers 5-3 in the first round of the 2018 CIAA Softball Tournament and then Saint Augustine's University defeated VUU 11-3 to end the Lady Panthers' season on Monday, April 30, in Salem, Va.
