Winston-Salem, NC…The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association held its Annual CIAA Football Officials Clinic and Banquet held in Winston Salem, North Carolina on July 27-28. Over 75 officials attended this year’s camp, where extensive time was spent on the study of rules and mechanics of football.
 
Vince Parker, a former CIAA & ACC official, was the keynote speaker for Friday night’s awards banquet.  Parker shared his experiences in officiating and discussed how the profession has drastically changed over the past 10 - 15 years.  He explained how officials are now held more accountable through video and instant replay and how the importance of positive image and perception are a definite must for success.
 
The Football Officials Association recognized and presented awards to officials who had dedicated from five to 50 years of service to the conference.
