Junot returns to Virginia Union as Sports Information Director
JUNOT RETURNS TO VIRGINIA UNION AS SPORTS INFORMATION DIRECTOR

Virginia Union University has announced that Jim Junot is returning
as Sports Information Director, a post he held from 2002-2006.
Jim Junot, 50, was Sports Information Director at Virginia State
University for the past three years and has had a 23-year
association with sports administration.
A Warren Berg Award nominee, Junot received his Bachelor’s
degree in Communication from the University of Louisville in
1983.
He spent 12 years as a reporter for the Louisville Courier-Journal
and as an assistant sports information director for the University
of Louisville.
After relocating to Richmond, Va., in 1999, Junot worked as a
webmaster and researcher for bestselling author Patricia Cornwell.
After a stint as a reporter with the Richmond Free Press newspaper,
Junot landed at Virginia Union University in August of 2003.
Junot came to VSU in November, 2006, after spending four years at
VUU.
"I'm thrilled to be back at Union," Junot said. "It feels
like I'm returning home."
Junot has won 13 writing awards during the past three years and
placed second place nationally twice in the Fred Stabley Writing
Contest, sponsored by the College Sports Information Directors of
America (CoSIDA).
Junot also sits on the National Technology Committee of CoSIDA.
