CIAA Golf Title to be Determined at Charlotte’s Larkhaven Golf Club

Hampton, Va. - The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) will have the 2015 golf title up for grabs at the Larkhaven Golf Club in Charlotte, North Carolina. The annual championship tournament will be held from Thursday through Friday, April 16-17.
 
Two-time defending champions Virginia State University will face a tough field of Chowan University, Livingstone College and Fayetteville State University.
 
Chowan captured both North/South Division tournament titles with an average of 322.8 strokes. Livingstone and Fayetteville State finished second and third, respectfully. The Blue Bears averaged 324.5 while the Broncos followed closely at 326.8.
 
Livingstone posted the lowest round of the two tournaments with a 315 (+27) after the first round of the Northern Division Tournament.
 
Fayetteville State’s Brandon Jobe is atop of the leaderboard with a four-round average of 74.3. He was the Low Medalist Award winner at the Southern Division Tournament with a one over par 145 and the Northern Tournament at 152 (+8). Jobe’s best round of conference play was the second round of the Southern Division Tournament at the Larkhaven Golf Club when he evened the course, par 72.
 
Livingstone’s Phillip Harrison ranks second with a 75.8 average while Jordan Francis of Chowan trials close by with a 78.0 average.
 
The first championship pairings will tee off at 9 a.m. on Thursday and Friday morning with nine-minute intervals between the groups. Hole-by-hole live results will available via TheCIAA.com
 
Following the conclusion of the championship rounds, the top five players with the lowest two-day totals will be named to the All-Tournament team along with the low medalist.  The top ten golfers with the best average over the three tournaments will garner all-conference honors. The player with lowest total score will be in-line for the Player of the Year Award.
