Green Hill Park:
2501 Parkside Drive, Salem, VA 24153
One of the larger parks in Roanoke County, Green Hill Park offers a wide variety of activities. The large grass field here hosts many of the region's large special events and athletic tournaments. Keep yourself busy fishing in a mile of water frontage on the Roanoke River stocked with trout. Hike on a section of the Roanoke River Greenway, a paved 10-foot-wide walking path that begins near the main park entrance. Green Hill contains two rentable picnic shelters for your next gathering. Green Hill park is also home to a top notch 20-acre equestrian center. Directions here.
Venue Rules & Regulations:
- Park hours are from sunrise to sunset
- Glass is prohibited in city parks
- No amplified music without a special permit
- Dogs are allowed in the park
- Service dogs are allowed in every park
- No alcoholic beverages are allowed in city parks
- No open fires are allowed outside of park fireplace
- No tents, stages, or other special apparatus is allowed without a permit
- No cutting of park trees or shrubs in city parks is allowed
Signs and Banners:
Signs and banners are allowed if they meet the following requirements:
- Small enough for one person to hold
- Do not block the view of other patrons
- Do not block signage
- Non-offensive to any person or group
- Meet the approval of the CIAA.
Other than each team’s videographers and approved, credentialed media entities, the use of video cameras during an event at Green Hill Park is strictly prohibited. Digital and still cameras will be permitted; still cameras with lenses no longer than four inches are permissible.
Artificial noisemakers, air horns, electronic instruments, cannons, etc., are not permissible.
Items (i.e., cups, shakers, flags, etc.) with commercial slogans or identification are not allowed on the premises without the permission of the CIAA. Items such as newspapers, caps, t-shirts, etc., may also not be distributed on the premises without the permission of the CIAA.
A portable restroom unit will be provided and located close to the course. There will also be Porta-Jons located throughout the course as well.
Spectators should enter the park from the main park entrance located on Parkside Drive. Spectator Seating: Spectators can choose to stand or sit anywhere along the course if it is at least 10 feet away from the course trail.
This event is free and open to the public.
