CIAA Volleyball Comes to Hampton

United Way VP to Deliver Keynote Address

Hampton, VA... The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association welcomes Anita Maxwell, Vice President of Community Initiatives for United Way of Virginia Peninsula, as the keynote speaker for the 2008 CIAA Volleyball Championship Banquet. This year's event will be held on Thursday, November 6 at the Virginia Air and Space Center in downtown Hampton, VA; 7:00pm.
Anita Maxwell has served as Vice President of Community Initiatives for United Way of the Virginia Peninsula since August of 2006. She is chiefly responsible for the organization's agency relations and community building activities.
She serves as division leader for United Way's fund distribution process, including volunteer management, site visit coordination and grant proposal evaluation for more than 65 programs.
Ms. Maxwell's years of advocacy and service with community programs includes participation in neighborhood revitalization projects, Habitat for Humanity, Dallas' Health and Human Services Coalition, Annual Feed the Homeless programs, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She currently serves on the FEMA Local Emergency Food and Shelter Program Board and as United Way's representative with the Greater Virginia Peninsula Continuum of Care Council.

The 2008 Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year will be announced as well as a formal recognition of the All-CIAA and All-Rookie teams.
